Perinatal, Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Motherhood Counseling

About

Hi, I’m Kristy.

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation (LISW-S) as well as a Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) provider having completed extensive training through Postpartum Support International. As a result, I am passionate about empowering and supporting women throughout the perinatal journey. I aim to emphasize the importance of building a supportive and non-judgmental rapport that allows my clients to feel safe as they work towards their self-potential. The clinical approaches of evidence-based therapies I utilize include: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy. As well as elements of: Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). My goal is to apply a client-centered approach focusing on YOUR strengths as catalysts toward change.

I earned my Bachelor of Psychology (BS) from Harding University and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Arizona State University. My clinical experience spans a broad range of environments offering a unique perspective when working with women and families. Prior to moving into private practice, I provided behavioral health services to patients and families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Additionally, I have provided clinical support in crisis response for human trafficking survivors, rehabilitation for those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, as well as case management support to homeless families.

In addition to clinical work, I also provide individual and group supervision to Licensed Social Workers working toward independent licensure.

On a more personal side I am a mother of two boys and a Christian. I believe true healing comes only from Jesus Christ I am merely an educator and guide as you walk through your motherhood journey. I am very honored to have the privilege of supporting you and so many other women and their families!

God Bless

Kristy Amos MSW, LISW-S, PMH-C
